I am always trying to look for other products that will enhance what we do for clarity of images and precision of George’s line. Right now, if you are using DMX or DICOM you are good for clarity for DXD reporting. But, if you own plain film radiography, then we run into a slight problem. I have a juiced up Canon Xerox machine that I utilize for all my 2nd opinions of other attorneys/doctors that send plain film and the scanning comes out great.

So I decided to do some research for my DXD members. So I took a chance and purchased a Microtek TMA (TMA, Transparent Media Adapter) for $1,998 to see if this would be a benefit for my Plain film 2nd opinion business and for my DXD Doctors that have plain film. I have DICOM and DMX for my patients and I think those are the 2 best options for linear films. If you are staying with your Plain film for a while and are not upgrading to DICOM or DMX then I suggest that you purchase this Microtek scanner for clarity, confidence and attorney comprehension. When cases are sent to your attorneys , then other doctors usually do an over read, the last thing you want is another Doctor saying, “these images are too dark, unreadable, etc.”

Always scan plain films at 100%, so we are comparing apples to apples…
